The Vanuatu Handicraft Market (frequently known as the Port Vila Handicraft Market or Haos Blong Handikraft / Mahitahi) is the premier hub for authentic, locally made arts and crafts in Vanuatu's capital. Managed by local artisans, particularly the resident "Mamas", every product is government-checked to guarantee its indigenous authenticity. With more than 140 stalls packed with traditional handicrafts, T-shirts, surf wear, jewellery and duty free and cafe, this giant shed is a one-stop souvenir shopping experience. Money exchange and ATM on site, although cash is highly preferred. You can generally expect everything to be fully operational between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Closed on Sundays.
