About Te Pa'ata Lookout

The Te Pa’ata Lookout is a scenic vantage point located on Mangaia, the oldest and southernmost island in the Cook Islands. The lookout offers panoramic inland vistas overlooking the Keia district, including its traditional taro plantations and historical sacred maraes (communal/sacred places). It is situated just off Arakiore Road near the main village of Oneroa. Unlike many rugged lookouts in the Cook Islands that require intense hiking, Te Pa’ata is accessible by driving along the island's backroads.
