About Mount Aorai

Mount Aorai is Tahiti’s third-highest peak, standing at 2,066 metres (6,778 feet) above sea level. Located just behind the capital city of Papeete, it is legendary for offering one of the most physically demanding yet visually stunning ridge hikes in French Polynesia. 9 to 12 hours if completed in a single day, though many hikers split it into a 2-day trek. Extremely difficult. The path is frequently slippery with clay, mud, and moss. The upper sections feature high exposure with steep rock faces where you must rely on fixed ropes and chains to ascend.
