About Samarai Island
Samarai Island is a small, 22-hectare (54-acre) island located in the China Strait, just off the southeastern tip of mainland Papua New Guinea in the Milne Bay Province. Historically nicknamed the "Pearl of the Pacific," it was once a booming British colonial capital and the second-largest commercial port in the country, though it now stands as a tranquil, historical site.
