About ’Ano & Hinakauea Beaches

Hinakauea Beaches are two scenic, tranquil tropical escape spots located near the southern end of Pangaimotu Island in the Vava'u archipelago of Tonga. Known for clear turquoise waters, golden sands, and lush green backdrops, they offer great conditions for swimming, relaxing, and snorkeling. Can be reached via a bike ride or drive from Neiafu, or accessed directly by boat/yacht. These are natural, undeveloped public beaches with virtually no commercial facilities, so bring your own water, food, and gear. Dress modestly (cover swimwear when off the sand), and note that strict Sabbath laws apply on Sundays in Tonga, meaning recreational swimming and loud activities are generally discouraged or restricted.
